It's not the first time Nick Diaz and a state commission have battled over his marijuana use, but this time it could be a trend setter.
Yahoo! Sports' Kevin Iole broke the story that Diaz tested positive after his fight at UFC 143. If his penalty mirrors the one boxer Matt Vanda got last week from the NSAC, then Diaz will be fined $80,000 and be given a one-year suspension.
Is that fair? Should a violation for a marijuana test be the same as steroids? Iole reacted just minutes after the story broke on Las Vegas' ESPN1100/98.9 FM.
UFC president Dana White released a statement on the Diaz slip:
"I am beyond disappointed that he tested positive for marijuana," White said in the statement that the UFC distributed to the media. "It is now in the hands of the Nevada State Athletic Commission."

During today’s conference call for the upcoming Strikeforce: “Tate vs. Rousey” event, Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker announced that undefeated middleweight Derek Brunson has been scratched from his scheduled matchup with Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Coker announced that Strikeforce officials are now looking for a replacement opponent for Souza.
Brunson (9-0) announced that he failed an eye exam during his state-ordered physical. He mentioned that in the past, he was allowed to wear contact lenses during his fights, but the Ohio State Athletic Commission refused to clear him for the fight scheduled for March 3rd.
With his current state of vision, Brunson announced that he will likely undergo Lasik eye surgery sometime in the near future, and he plans to return as soon as possible.
Souza (14-3-1), the former Strikeforce middleweight champion, was scheduled to make his return to the organization for the first time since losing his belt to current champion Luke Rockhold last September. While an opponent has yet to be announced, Coker mentioned that he is confident they will find an opponent and that Souza will remain on the card.
Strikeforce: “Tate vs. Rousey’ is headlined by the biggest female MMA fight in years, with current Strikeforce women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate defending her belt for the first time against the undefeated Ronda Rousey.

Last week we saw the very sweet black and white photo that Jennifer Lopez shared on her official Twitter profile that featured her in the loving arms of her much younger toyboy Casper Smart. Altho J. Lo decided to pull down the photo, it made its way to the Internets where it will live for all time. Today we learn that Jenny and Casper made their way down to Rio de Janeiro for Carnival this week. Click below to see some photos of the lovebirds in action in Rio.

She may arrived in Brazil wearing leggings and a scarf, but it didn’t take long for Jennifer Lopez to change into her carnival attire. The 42-year-old singer showed off her curvaceous body in a bright red outfit to enjoy Rio de Janeiro’s annual event. She was joined by her boyfriend Casper Smart, 24, and her manager Benny Medina as she watched the festivities from a private VIP box courtesy of Brazilian beer Brahma. To show her thanks, the mother-of-two dressed in one the brand’s glitzy T-shirts which she teamed with a pair of red skinny jeans and matching platform heels. Jennifer had made a lot of effort with her appearance as she wore her long hair down in loose waves which she teamed with lots of jewelry. Smart and Medina also sported matching Brahma tops and looked on as the singer acknowledged the crowd with a huge grin on her face.
Before changing into their carnival outfits, the threesome took in the view from their hotel balcony waving to fans and taking pictures of Ipanema beach. Jennifer was still wearing the outfit she had travelled in which consisted of leggings, a black sweater and a cream and black plaid scarf looped around her neck. Casper was in black shorts, a striped black vest and a straw fedora, which he wore with black wayfarers.
I mean … what better place to take your young buck than to Carnival in Rio. I’ve always wanted to travel to the Southern Hemisphere and every year I see photos from Carnival I think, next year. It’s unclear how long J. Lo and Casper will be staying in Rio but I’m pretty certain they will make the most of their romantic and fun time together.

Demi Lovato is giving fans an insider view of what life's been like for her since leaving a treatment center last year, documenting it for the MTV special "Demi Lovato: Stay Strong," debuting Tuesday, March 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV.
The special will follow the singer in her most private moments, as she deals with her very public recovery from personal issues, including an eating disorder and cutting. "Stay Strong" shows her confronting these problems while still working on her career, including going back on the road for a tour. Since leaving a trek with the Jonas Brothers in the fall of 2010 to enter treatment, the singer has leaned on the support of her family, friends and devoted fans, known as Lovatics.
Lovato will go into detail about the events that caused her to seek treatment and how she decided to share her personal struggles and journey with the world.
"I wanted to share my story but I knew it had to be honest, it had to be real," Lovato said in a statement. "I have daily challenges but so do many kids who are struggling to feel comfortable in their own skin. If opening up and sharing my story inspires even one person to stay strong or to get the help they need, I've succeeded."
Fans will get to hit the road with the singer, as well as travel home with her to Dallas, Texas, to see her family. She will also head back to the Illinois treatment center she entered in November 2010.
Lovato first teased the project on Tuesday when she tweeted a photo of her tattooed wrists reading "Stay Strong." "Lovatics-I wanted to tell you FIRST about a special I worked on with @MTV," she tweeted. "It premieres March 6th at 10pm!! #staystrong"
Lovato hit the road late last year for a solo trek shortly after dropping her third album, Unbroken. The personal record included the chart-topping hit single "Skyscraper."
The special will air on MTV channels internationally starting in the spring. For more information, head to StayStrong.MTV.com.

Chris Brown and Rihanna in 2009

When Rihanna and Chris Brown dropped not one, but two tracks together Monday night, the songs were met with mixed reactions. Some fans thought it was time for everyone to move on and embrace the former couple's next chapter, while others argued that given Brown's 2009 assault on Rihanna, it was inappropriate for them to record together.
In the years since that assault, Rihanna has been open about her abusive relationship with the R&B singer, saying, "I don't want to be the big domestic-violence spokesperson, because that doesn't define who I am. But if I can help young women in any way, and that being one of the things they need help with, then I'll do that."
Since that late 2009 interview with MTV News, Rihanna certainly hasn't backed down in her career, releasing chart-topping singles, winning awards, going on tour and using videos and Twitter to show the world just how fierce she can be.
After the release of the "Birthday Cake" and "Turn Up the Music" remixes, Rita Smith, the executive director for the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, talked to MTV News about what the collaborations mean.
"I guess I'm not particularly surprised given the rumors that had gone on around this, and it's also not surprising because many victims get back with their abusers, even after an assault. They love them, they think they change, and abusers are particularly good at convincing you they've changed," she said. "I don't know what their relationship is at this point, but I'm not surprised that she's staying connected.
"I'm still concerned because his reaction to people's criticism of him being on the Grammys was fairly belligerent, and that didn't give me much of a message or sense of hope that he had made changes since that assault," she said, referring to the barrage of tweets Brown sent out after negative feedback about his Grammy appearance.
"I hope he's changed. I hope that he will never choose to use violence again no matter what kind of relationship he has with her or anybody else," she continued. "I think, for me, it would be much more powerful if they could publicly state what's different for them so that it doesn't just leave us wondering if anything has changed and if they have learned anything in the process, because it was so public. We're all wondering, because they're not saying anything. That would leave us with a different message that it all doesn't matter and they're just going to do what they do."
Smith said that, given their history, "I think the message she's sending is that the feelings of being in love are more important than your personal safety."
"The thing that matters most is whether you're safe and whether you feel respected — that's what matters most in a relationship and that's what we should all be focusing on," Smith added. "That has to be the primary goal of any relationship."
In the end, Smith hopes the two pop stars have grown since the very public assault.
"I don't know what the message is. I would like the message to be: People can change, and I will never be treated that way again and I will never treat anyone that way again. If they had released a song saying this is what this represents for us, that would be such a much more fabulous, powerful story than not saying a word," she said. "The content of the songs seems to be more in-your-face than something about, 'We're collaborating on something because we care about the way people treat each other.' That would have been the message that would have been nice to come out of this very public and tragic incident."
What do you think of Chris Brown and Rihanna working together in light of their history? Sound off in the comments.

Let the El-Lensanity begin! Well…maybe not.
After a strong performance on Wednesday, Jake Ellenberger emerged victorious with a win over the always tough Diego Sanchez. He might have the rulebook to thank for it, due to the match being scheduled for just three rounds. After a dominating first two rounds, Sanchez began to get comfortable, and was able to get Ellenberger to the ground late in the round. However, even with a few submission attempts and strong ground-and-pound, he was unable to finish “The Juggernaut”.
Afterwards, the judges all agreed, and Bruce Buffer announced the 29-28 score in favor of Ellenberger.
So, what now?
Earlier this month at UFC 143, Carlos Condit defeated Nick Diaz by decision to win the interim welterweight title. Because of just how closely contested the fight was, a rematch was discussed and likely would have taken place later this year. However, Diaz failed his post-fight drug test for marijuana, thus throwing that rematch out the window due to Diaz being suspended.
Now Condit will likely wait for welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre to return from a torn ACL. That means Condit will wait on the shelf until later this year, likely November.
Nine months. That means the Duggar family (famous for having 19 kids…and counting!) will likely have another child before we see the pair step foot in the Octagon.
This begs the question- what was the point of having the interim belt?
If Condit is only going to fight once during St. Pierre’s downtime, why have an interim belt at all? Why not just make him the number one contender with the win over Diaz, and at least not make the interim belt even more of a phony than it already is?
Or even better, do not label the fight with Condit and Diaz at all, and let the division sort itself out to determine who the proper contender for St. Pierre is for when he returns.
Now, with the win on Wednesday over Sanchez, Ellenberger is stuck. He is at least a year away from a title shot, if not more, depending on how St. Pierre’s recovery goes.
A fantastic rematch between Condit and Ellenberger is sitting in Dana White and Joe Silva’s lap, but instead they will just give us something else, just like Santa Claus at the mall.
Ellenberger, who fought nine times in 2005, does not have the benefit of waiting around. That does not get him anywhere, especially due to not being a number one contender. But, the one benefit of him fighting a few more fights this year is that he will get to fight in five-round matchups. He was visibly tired in the third round; something Sanchez was able to take advantage of. Now he can work on his fitness and gradually work his way up to being ready for that title shot whenever it is awarded to him.
Biggest winner: Stefan Struve
Before the fight, Struve stressed how much he just wants to continue growing in the cage. His maturity and growth may have never been more evident than on Wednesday against Dave Herman. After a slow first round, Struve picked his spots very well in the second round, eventually knocking Herman down with an uppercut. From there he was able to finish the fight.
A year ago, Struve might have grown impatient midway through the first round, perhaps putting him in trouble. At 23, he still has plenty of time to develop. After entering the Octagon for the tenth time, Struve might finally be on his way to reaching his potential.
Biggest loser: Dave Herman
Herman just had to know that scarf did not go well with that sweater.
Fashion mistakes aside, Herman’s lack of focus on his career might be catching up to him. The raw talent is evident, but for a guy that has never taken his career overly serious, he might have reached the peak of where natural skills can take him. After testing positive for marijuana prior to UFC 136, and not really confirming or denying it, and then his antics throughout the week, Herman might get a talking to from UFC brass before he gets cut.
And yes, Pee-Wee, that’s the word of the day.
Biggest question: Did anyone get to see the excellent debut on FUEL TV?
With an attendance of just over 6,000 in the Omaha Civic Auditorium, that still might be a larger audience than the amount of people that watched on television.
With just a few months between the signing with FOX late last year and the debut on FUEL TV, it would have been a good idea to have all cable events take place on FX in 2012, and then hold events on FUEL TV in 2013.
Instead, thousands of fans will be unable to watch multiple events throughout this year, as it is a much more difficult process to change cable providers or demand a channel than some people in the UFC believe.
Future matchups to make:
Jake Ellenberger vs. Johny Hendricks/Josh Koscheck winner:
I would love to put Ellenberger/Condit II here, and I think it might still happen. But for now, it sounds like Condit will wait for St. Pierre. Hendricks/Koscheck takes place in May at UFC on FOX 3. This will allow Ellenberger some time off, and put together an excellent matchup between “The Juggernaut” and the victor later this year.
Diego Sanchez vs. A return to lightweight:
After the fight, Sanchez discussed how tough it is to put on enough muscle in order to take on the stronger welterweights. While he did not like the cut to 155 pounds, Sanchez looked at his best in the division. Let him have some time to cut the weight, and let him return to his stronger division.
Stefan Struve vs. Mike Russow
Struve seems to be on the right track after hitting a few rough patches throughout his career. Russow has yet to see a rough patch, winning the first four fights of his UFC career. He deserves a tough test, something “The Skyscraper” would provide.
Ronny Markes vs. Ed Herman
Markes is a huge middleweight who made his debut at 185 pounds on Wednesday. That cut seemed evident at times, as the fight dragged at some point in every round. But with his size and skill, Markes poses a strong challenge to the entire division. Coming off of a win against Clifford Starks at UFC 143 earlier this month, Herman would test Markes both on the feet and on the ground.

While the UFC makes its return to Japan this weekend, they will also be traveling across the world for the next event the following weekend with UFC on FX 2. The event takes place at Allphones Arena in Sydney, Australia. This will be the UFC’s third event in the last three years in Australia, following UFC 110 and UFC 127, which also took place in Sydney.
The full card of fights is now official, with a four fight main card set to air live on FX. The UFC has yet to announce where the preliminary card fights will air, but it is expected that they will air on Fuel TV.
The main event for UFC on FX 2 features two top welterweight contenders, with Thiago Alves taking on Martin Kampmann.
Also featured on the main card will be the first round of the flyweight tournament, as the 125 pound division will make its debut at the event. The first round matchups include former Tachi Palace Fights flyweight champion Ian McCall taking on Demetrious Johnson, and Joseph Benavidez taking on Yasuhiro Urushitani.
Johnson and Benavidez, both former bantamweights who fought for the title at 135 pounds, will be making their flyweight debut.
Rounding out the main card will be a middleweight matchup between The Ultimate Fighter season 11 winner Court McGee and Constantinos Philippou.
Like the previous UFC cards held in Australia, the event will air live in the United States during its usual Saturday night time slot, which means the event will take place early Sunday morning in Australia.

UFC on Fuel 1 main event fighters Diego Sanchez and Jake Ellenberger each earned an extra $50,000 for their efforts in Omaha, Nebraska. Elsewhere on the card Ivan Menjivar picked up “submission of the night” and Stipe Miocic earned “knockout of the night.
Despite being a statistical blowout for two rounds, Diego Sanchez kept charging forward into the continuing barrage of punches and takedowns of Ellenberger. In the third round, Diego took advantage of an Ellenberger mistake and put the hometown crowd on edge by taking the former UNO wrestler’s back and landing some vicious ground and pound. Ellenberger kept his composure however, and likely kept the fight from becoming a draw by escaping and landing a solid combo of his own to finish the “fight of the night” winner.
In the post-fight press conference, Ellenberger stated that he would understand UFC interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit would want to wait for UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre but that he would love a rematch at some point.
In what was originally the “fight of the night” front runner, Ivan Menjivar survived multiple submission attempts, survived a headkick and near TKO along the cage to bounce back and submit a very tough John Albert with a rear naked choke. The win runs Menjivar’s recent winstreak to three.
Stipe Miocic earned $50,000 for just forty-three seconds of work against Philip De Fries. De Fries charged forward recklessly looking for a knock out of his own before Miocic sent him reeling off the cage with a well-timed counter shot. Miocic quickly swarmed and knocked De Fries out cold before the referee intervened. The raw heavyweight talent improved to 8-0 (2-0 UFC) with the knockout victory.

The whole world went to church on Saturday (February 18) to say goodbye to one of the greatest singers of all time. Attendees of all ages, religious beliefs and walks of life, gathered to celebrate superstar singer Whitney Elizabeth Houston, a native of Newark, New Jersey. The state's governor, Chris Christie, flew flags across New Jersey at half mast in her honor.
The 48-year-old music icon died on February 11, a day before the Grammy Awards, in Los Angeles. She is expected to be buried on Sunday. (The official cause of death has not yet been confirmed.)
Despite the singer's well-documented struggles with substance abuse, on Saturday, there was very little talk of controversy during the largely upbeat, often humorous and emotional Home-Going ceremony held at New Hope Baptist Church, where Houston first sang in the choir as a child. It was attended by more than 1,500 mourners, including Oprah Winfrey, Mariah Carey, Kevin Costner, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack and Whitney's longtime friends, the Winans family.
The ceremony largely underscored her deep Baptist roots and love of the gospel, whether through word or song. This was evidenced by a performance by Grammy-winning gospel star Donnie McClurkin, who sang one of Houston's favorites, "Stand," at the request of her family.
Filmmaker Tyler Perry, who spoke early in the service, said that in conversations with Houston he learned that it was her faith in God that carried her through the darkest times of her life. "Say whatever you want," Perry said. "God is for her. She is resting with the angels."
Gospel singer BeBe Winans, who caused ripples of laughter as he talked about the "crazy Whitney" he knew, wept as he sang the touching ballad "I Really Miss You," a song he wrote about his deceased brother who also died at the age of 48.
Bishop T.D. Jakes and gospel star Kim Burrell also remembered the fallen diva, with Burrell personalizing the Sam Cooke classic, "A Change Is Gonna Come." The legendary Stevie Wonder did something similar later, changing the lyrics of one of his most famous songs from "There's a ribbon in the sky for our love" to "There's an angel in the choir of love."
Actor Kevin Costner, who fought to have Houston cast opposite him in the groundbreaking 1992 film "The Bodyguard," spoke of Houston's enduring doubts about herself and her talent, even at the height of her musical career. He urged her to "go sing for your heavenly father, Whitney," as he fought back tears.
There were a few anxious moments during the ceremony, however, involving Houston's ex-husband Bobby Brown. He apparently attempted to bring nine people to sit in the front row at the ceremony and was turned away. A source at the funeral told MTV News that Brown was encouraged not to cause a scene at the funeral by walking out, but the singer reportedly got on his tour bus and took off, saying he loved Whitney but felt disrespected by the church. He reiterated the sentiment in a statement released by his rep.
Houston's mentor, Clive Davis, brought the audience back to the reason they'd all gathered in that church.
"You wait for a voice like that for a lifetime," he said. "A face like that. A smile like that. A presence like that for a lifetime. And when one person embodies it all — well, it takes my breath away."
He called Houston an eternally loyal friend. "Yes, she admitted to the craziness in her life, and confessed to Oprah about her battles but when I needed her, she was there," he said.
To her daughter, Bobbi Kristina, Davis said, "Always be proud of your mother," before concluding that Whitney was going to "raise the roof in heaven like no one else has done before."
Her longtime bodyguard, Ray, who found her body in a Beverly Hills hotel room, wanted people to remember Houston the woman and not just the singer, adding that entertainers in general should be treated with more respect. He was referring to Houston's tarnished image in the media after years of battling addiction. "We have to give back to all our entertainers. Treat them with love and stop ridiculing them," he said. "They give their lives to you. They're not with their families. This lady right here, she loved you. I know that. I was with her every day."
Controversial R&B singer R. Kelly sang a song he wrote for Houston, "I Look to You," moments before one of the ceremony's final performances, "Tomorrow," by the Winans family. It was followed by the eulogy given by Marvin Winans.
The church played Houston's chart-shattering hit "I Will Always Love You," the song that was without a doubt her most famous, as pall bearers carried her gleaming silver casket out of the church.

David and Sarah spent part of the early afternoon bonding at the Anne Frank House while I stayed back at the hotel working. I finished up and met them out in Rembrandt Square were we grabbed some coffee and snacks. After an AMAZING seafood dinner last night, we just hung our around Leidseplein to finish out the night. ‘Twas a very fun day, indeed.

Even tho the day was pretty overcast all day long, I still enjoyed walking the grey streets of Amsterdam. There are a lot of things to love about this beautiful city … and I was reminded of many of them as I crossed the canals along the cobblestone streets. Because we only ever come to Amsterdam in February, I don’t know what it’s like here in the Summer … but man, I’d like to find out some day :)
For dinner, we made our way to a place called Vis aan de Schide and OMG, was it just a fantastic dining experience. Everything we ate was prepared fresh … and it was BEYOND delicious:

I didn’t want to obnoxiously take photos of everything we ate but man … I couldn’t resist taking a few photos. I ate my face off and loved every second of it. We ended the night just walking around Leidseplein popping in and out of places. It was fun.
The plan for today is hopefully another museum, another fantastic dinner and a canal boat ride. Today is our last full day here in Amsterdam before we fly to London tomorrow evening. It’s going to be really hard to say goodbye this time :(
They play love interests in their new film but they’re not romantically linked (yet anyway). Taylor Swift and Zac Efron hit the red carpet together yesterday for the L.A.premiere of their animated 3D movie Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Check out the pics – Taylor looks stunning in a sweet cream dress and Zac looks handsome as ever in a casual leather jacket ensemble. They look pretty cute together.

I can’t say that they’re together because I definitely don’t know this, but I can say that I think they would make a cute couple. We have been seeing lots of pics though that suggest that Zac Efron *MAY* be dating Lily Collins but they haven’t confirmed that they are a couple either. They were out together on Valentines Day but this doesn’t mean that they are dating. I’m not sure about thOse two as a couple and I kind of like Zac and Taylor – but I know that neither of these pairings have any proof or confirmation. Hmm…
The film they were on the red carpet for is a computer-animated 3-D film based on Dr. Seuss’ children’s book and also features the iconic, Danny deVito and Betty White. I’m excited to see this one.

There's no doubt the most popular man at UFC 143 was Roy Nelson. For that reason, he's going to stick around. After his loss against Fabricio Werdum, he's now 3-3 with the UFC.
When asked about Nelson's future, Dana White isn't ready to give up on "Big Country," he still wonders if the fighter is cheating himself by not being in tip top condition.
"He's tough man, he's so tough. One of the toughest guys I've ever seen ... ever. The guy brings it. He comes to fight," said White.
Nelson shed some of excess weight and fought Werdum at 246 pounds, but it sounds like White would like to see drop even more.
"I've been telling Roy forever, if Roy took himself serious ... the schtick was funny for a while, but going in at 265 with a frame that doesn't carry 265 makes no sense when you're a professional fighter or a professional athlete of any kind," White said. He got his weight down [but] you wonder what he could do if he really, really trained and got into it."
Nelson lost a unanimous decision to Werdum, but had his moments early in the fight. When it came time to press on the gas pedal, Nelson didn't have the energy.
"If he was in good enough shape to keep that kind of pace he would win more fights," said White.

When asked about Nelson's punching power disappearing if he drop down into the 230's, White didn't think it would take away too much.
"You either have [punching power] or you don't. You got these guys that have knockout power, then guys that don't."
Nelson clearly put in good work to drop from 265 to 246, let's hope he can shed a little more, be able to go three hard rounds and take out heavyweights who legitimately in the top 10.

Since starting with Yahoo! Sports in September of 2008, I haven't missed a single UFC or Strikeforce event. There were a few I couldn't watch live, but I have DVRed or bought a replay of every pay-per-view, fight night, network event and Showtime show. Not missing any fights over the past three years is exactly what made Wednesday night so weird. I couldn't watch UFC on Fuel 1 because I don't have Fuel, and it's not likely that it will become available to me anytime soon. Did you have a similar experience?
Today, Fuel released highlights for those of us who couldn't watch, starting with Jake Ellenberger and Diego Sanchez's Fight of the Night.
It was painful to miss such a good bout, as well as Stipe Miocic's Knockout of the Night.
The card was started off with Ivan Menjivar's Submission of the Night performance over John Albert.
Three more fights have been added to UFC on Fuel TV 3, as Amir Sadollah will take on Jorge Lopez in a welterweight matchup, Aaron Riley will fight in his hometown against fellow lightweight Cody McKenzie, and middleweights Dongi Yang and Brad Tavares will square off at the May 15 event in Fairfax, Virginia, the UFC announced tonight.
UFC on Fuel TV 3 is headlined by rising featherweights Dustin Poirier and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and also includes Donald Cerrone vs. Yves Edwards, Thiago Silva vs. Igor Pokrajac.

It's prom season, and that means high schoolers across this great land will be renting tuxes, buying fancy dresses and negotiating the details of their curfews with parents. So, before you take your pictures and get in your limos, we asked some Hollywood A-listers to recall their fondest prom memories. "I had a great prom," Ne-Yo told MTV News. "I didn't get to go with who I wanted to go with. I got my second choice, but my second choice turned out to be the one I was supposed to be there with, so it turned out good."
Ke$ha, never one to say no to a party, had the best night of all her friends. "I went to prom with my gay best friend, and let me tell you, I had way more fun than anybody else at a prom with their boyfriends," she recalled. "Everybody else was, like, crying and drama and breaking up, and me and my gay best friend just danced until 8 a.m." "Hellcats" star Aly Michalka doesn't have a favorite prom memory — because she never went to prom. "I was homeschooled, so I don't even think we had a fake prom," she lamented. "Like, maybe we had a home-school prom and I wasn't invited?" While everything always seems to be in peril on "The Vampire Diaries," star Nina Dobrev had a less tumultuous night: "Having everyone get together and such a final celebration [is what I remember]." Romeo went big for his prom. "My senior prom, I remember I pulled up in my red Ferrari. I was feeling like James Bond," he said. "And it was one of the best nights of my life." "My favorite prom memory was probably going shopping for a dress, and our boyfriends at the time dressed up as 'Dumb & Dumber,' " Audrina Patridge laughed. "And so we were like, 'We can't dress up dorky ... we have to look good.' " Roots drummer ?uestlove made a big decision on the night of his prom: "June 2, 1989, was my very last haircut; prom haircut, totally butchered my hair. He butchered my hair, and I vowed never again to ever get in a barber chair, so I grew that Afro on my prom night." Adam Lambert said his prom date was a 10, so he definitely had a fun night. "I had a great prom. I had an awesome time," he said. "I went with one of my best friends in high school. Her name was Lauren, and she was really hot. She wore a really hot red dress, so I felt like I had arm candy." Share your prom memories in the comments below!

Chad Griggs Wants a 'Real Big Name' Opponent Next Video by Chad Griggs John Mayer has revealed his new music with a 1 minute preview of his new studio single ‘Shadow Days’. The single is part of his new album Born And Raised which John actually started a little while ago but had to postpone when he found out that he has a throat condition that needed him to take a break from singing. But Yesterday John went to his official Tumblr account to reveal the single and posted a message saying, “Been looking forward to a post like this since October 14, 2010, the first day I started writing this group of songs… Enjoy.” Have a listen to his new stuff. Have you missed John Mayer?

At the end of last year John told fans he was unwell. He said, “This is a temporary setback, though I’m not sure how long or short a period of time it will be,” Mayer wrote on his Tumblr. “I’ve got the best doctors in the country looking after me and I will be singing and touring again as soon as I get the all clear.”
This will be John’s first album since 2009′s Battle Studies. The good news is that John is well again and is back into his music so hopefully we wont have to wait so long next time for more John Mayer tunes. The song ‘Shadow Days’ definitely has a John Mayer sound to it, soothing vocals, guitar and drums. It is also a bit less poppy and has a slightly more rock feel to it I think. The lyrics are also characteristically Mayer with lots of love and making love… “It sucks to be honest / And it hurts to be real / But it’s nice to make some love that I can finally feel.”
Have a listen to the 60 second snippet and get your John Mayer fix until his album comes out later this year.

And now we've seen her. On Friday (February 10), Jay-Z posted the first photos of his and Beyoncé's daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, on his Life + Times website.
The rapper and his superstar wife are seen in the photos holding the newborn in a series of five photos. In the first large photo, we see the baby swathed in a polka-dot wrap sleeping. In the remaining images, she has her eyes wide open and is being held by her beaming mother, and in another, her back is to us while she's being held by her smiling father. Photos: Blue Ivy Carter revealed. There's a note that reads: "We welcome you to share in our joy. Thank you for respecting our privacy during this beautiful time in our lives. The Carter family." The baby-picture reveal is just the latest Blue Ivy news. On Thursday, it was confirmed that the high-profile couple filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark Blue Ivy's name. The patent is intended to prevent the use of their daughter's name by non-related parties. The application was filed by Beyoncé's company, BGK Trademark Holdings, and is currently pending. The Washington Post reported that it will likely get approved, considering that parents are legally authorized to trademark the names of minor children. Earlier this week, Beyoncé revealed her post-pregnancy body, and she's back in fighting shape only a month after the birth of her baby girl. B was photographed twice this week, including at the first night of Jay-Z's two-night charity stint at Carnegie Hall. What do you think of the first Blue Ivy photos? Let us know in the comments!

Before the first UFC on Fuel TV event takes place next Wednesday in Omaha, the third installment, UFC on Fuel TV 3, now has a main event, as rising featherweights Dustin Poirier and Chan Sung Jung will battle in the main event of the May 15 card in Fairfax, Virginia.
Poirier (12-1) picked up his fourth consecutive UFC victory this past Saturday at UFC 143, defeating Max Holloway via first-round submission. The former lightweight remains undefeated at featherweight after making the move to 145 pounds in January 2011. He was set to take on another top contender in Eric Koch at UFC 143, but Koch withdrew due to injury.
Following his win over Holloway, Poirier called out “The Korean Zombie” and mentioned how exciting a fight the two could put on.
Jung (12-3) was last seen in the Octagon at UFC 140 in December, nearly setting a record for fastest knockout in UFC history. Although he narrowly missed out on the record by just a few tenths of a second, his 7-second knockout of Mark Hominick was still the biggest win of his career. After a successful 2011, which also saw him pull of an unprecedented submission, the Twister, the “Korean Zombie” has made it known he wants a title shot in 2012.
This will be the first main event for both fighters.
UFC on Fuel TV 3 will also host a lightweight battle between Donald Cerrone and Yves Edwards, while other announced matchups include Tom Lawlor vs. Jason MacDonald, and Thiago Silva taking on Igor Pokrajac.
A very sad day, indeed.
Check out Tyler Perry speaking about his relationship with Whitney Houston at the singer's private funeral held in New Jersey today (above).

So … yesterday David and I got engaged … and the rest of our day afterward was turned into one big celebration. Because David flew my BFF Sarah out from Detroit to be with us for our special trip, the three of us have been almost entirely inseparable. As the realization of our engagement settled in, the 3 of us decided to head out into Amsterdam for dinner and celebratory drinks. We enjoyed a very fun day/evening/night and kicked off our Amsterdam vacay in awesome style.

I have to say … I was VERY surprised to learn how long David had been planning yesterday’s engagement surprise. I now know that he’s been planning the big moment since last Summer! I’ve also learned that a select few people, his family included, have been in on the secret FOR MONTHS … without my knowledge — AT ALL. Even the hotel staff here at the Lloyd Hotel in Amsterdam and the Holland Board of Tourism at ArtsHolland.com was in on the secret! Sneaky bastards, all of them :) You know, I thought my nosey ass knew everything about David’s business but I guess I was sorely mistaken. David personally designed my ring and has put in countless hours working and planning his proposal. I can’t even tell you … he did an absolutely perfect job all around. I couldn’t be happier … we are just so happy.
After we grabbed a delish Mexican meal last night, we made our way to SoHo pub … which is the bar where David and I hung out the first night we met. Back then, it was David, me and our friend Rachel whooping it up in Amsterdam. Last night, it was David, Sarah and me doing the same. We danced to Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé … you name it, they played it last night. We had a blast.
After our late night, we all retired to our hotel and, er, further celebrations ensued. Ahem :) Today, we venture out into Amsterdam again, courtesy of ArtsHolland.com, to take in a few museums, including the Van Gogh Museum (which you can learn about HERE). It was the Holland Board of Tourism that is kinda sorta responsible for David and me meeting 6 years ago on that first blogger trip back in 2006 … I was FLOORED that they graciously offered to take such great care of us again on this trip. They have a few fun things planned for us to do … which I am very excited for. I can’t even believe how special this trip has become … I am just over the moon.
Happy Saturday, y’all! Sending all my love to all of you today :D

As far as breaking news from the press conference dais, Dana White plays it close to the vest. Immediately after the pressers, it's a different story. His boss Lorenzo Fertitta prefers Twitter. He was a news breaker last night in a late night chat with his followers.
According to Michael David Smith from MMAFighting, he revealed some important matchups on the horizon.
Alistair Overeem will challenge UFC heavyweight champ Junior dos Santoson May 26 in Las Vegas. The winner of that is likely to face the winner of a Frank Mir-Cain Velasquez bout confirmed Fertitta.
Fertitta also said Tito Ortiz's wish has been granted, he'll be getting Forrest Griffin for a third time. With Griffin's desire to always fight in Las Vegas and it being Ortiz's swan song, the fight is a lock for Sin City. Whether it's on May 26 or July 7 is unknown. Fertitta said the July 7 card will be headlined by Dominick Cruz-Urijah Faber III.

Fashion Director for Marie Claire, Nina Garcia, has been attending NY Fashion shows all week and tweeting the gowns she is handpicking for stars to wear to the Oscars. Today she tweeted two words, “Oscar gown” and posted a pic of a model walking down the runway in a gorgeous red beaded L’Wren Scott lace gown. The designer, L’Wren Scott was the long-term girlfriend of Mick Jagger and she worked as a costume designer on films including Ocean’s Thirteen and Eyes Wide Shut. She knows a thing or two about Academy Awards. Will someone we know end up wearing it on February 26th? Who would it look hot on?
Here is a pic of the dress Nina posted…
It is a L’Wren Scott gown, which is a newish couture designer, but she is starting to become well established on the runway and red carpet. She made a name for herself by rejecting the traditional fashion cycle of “seasons”, opting instead to name her collections. In 2006 she launched her first collection titled, ‘Little Black Dress’, which was exactly that – wearable, versatile pieces, entirely in black. Most recently, the design house introduced the “Lula” bag collection — a line of classic frame bags in honor of her mom that are available in various sizes and exotic skins, debuting exclusively at Barneys stores.
This red heavily beaded gown is perfect Academy Award material. It creates a sexy silhouette, is both intricate and unique, oozes a sense of real luxury with the beautiful fabric and perfect detail and has been eyed by Nina Garcia which means that someone will probably end up wearing it on Oscar night. Someone who hasn’t found their dress yet, that is…
Some people obviously already have their Oscar gowns picked out but many stars will wait until after Fashion Week when their stylist will find that dress and literally pounce on the designer to let their client wear it down the biggest red carpet of the year. The fact that Nina has ‘eyed’ this one makes me think that we might just see someone in it at the Oscars… keep you eyes out… I think it would look beautiful on Viola Davis or Bérénice Bejo star of The Artist. (She is going to need a good gown if she’s going up on stage a lot…)

'I used my understanding of show business and sort of magnified that to get a clear-cut vision of Seneca,' Wes Bentley tells MTV News.

Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane in "The Hunger Games"
Photo: Lionsgate
On Thursday, we treated our fellow "Hunger Games" fans to a fun and candid discussion with star Wes Bentley about his character's curiously shaped beard and how its unique design and personality enhanced Bentley's performance in the film as game master Seneca Crane.
Now we have yet another snippet from that interview, in which we tackle some more serious issues, like what secretive scenes Bentley was most excited to film, as well as what kind of Seneca Crane we'll see on the big screen come opening day, March 23.
"It was all of it for me," Bentley told MTV News about what scenes he was most eager to film. "I was curious to get on set and see what was going on. It was secret for everybody, so to get on and see what the look was and how it was feeling, I was excited to be a part of it every day."
The "American Beauty" actor admitted that because author Suzanne Collins doesn't provide a meaty character arc for Crane, he wasn't exactly sure how they were going to interpret him for the film.
"For anyone who reads the books, he's not mentioned much in the books, mostly because it's told from Katniss' first-person perspective, so I had no idea what kind of angle we were going to take on it, and I really didn't have an idea until I got to set," Bentley said. "[Director] Gary [Ross] had such a clear idea of it that it made it easy to dig into."
Bentley was hesitant to describe his version of Crane in detail, but after a bit of prodding, he did reveal that he took a few cues from his experiences in Hollywood to flesh out Crane's persona a bit.
"The idea of him was a flashier idea than what you would think. He's more a flashy producer," Bentley said. "I'm still a tech-y kind of guy, still a producer at heart, so I used my understanding of show business and sort of magnified that to get a clear-cut vision of Seneca.
"He goes big. He's all about the show," he added about Crane's all-for-the-sake-of-the-Games showmanship. "I went as far as I could without [going over the top], but what he's about in his show is flashy, his look is very flashy, but he still tried to play it like he's a cool cat."

As hardcore MMA fans know, holding a fight card in Japan comes with plenty of challenges. The biggest hurdle to clear is the time difference. Watching DREAM and Sengoku on HDNet, fans are usually subjected to 3 a.m. ET starts and a finish around 6 a.m.
According to USA Today, the UFC didn't want to do that plus it would kill pay-per-view buys so the promotion came up with a solution of extending the PPV portion to four hours and seven fights.
The downside? That means the main event between UFC lightweight champ Frankie Edgar and Benson Henderson won't start until 1 a.m. ET.
Rather than ask the audience in Japan to show up at an unusually early time for a sports event, UFC opted to shorten the preliminary card and lengthen the pay-per-view portion instead, said Anthony Evans, a spokesman for Zuffa.
The Saitama fight card will feature these fights on the PPV portion:
Frankie Edgar vs. Benson Henderson
Ryan Bader vs. Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
Mark Hunt vs. Cheick Kongo
Yoshihiro "Sexyama" Akiyama vs. Jake Shields
Joe Lauzon vs. Anthony Pettis
Tim Boetsch vs. Yushin Okami
Hatsu Hioki vs. Bart Palaszewski
Last we were talking about Chloe Sevigny it was to do with her role in the much talked about film, Lovelace. Today I’ve heard that she is going to be returning to the smaller screen with a guest role on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Shooting is meant to start next week for the episode and apparently Chloe is going to be playing a stay-at-home mom who is attacked and kidnapped. What do you think of this casting?

Chloe has been on that A-list for a while now but she is definitely on the rise. She really earned her place there in her role on HBO’s Big Love, and her Oscar-nominated role opposite Hilary Swank in the phenomenal film, Boys Don’t Cry. She has also been in American Psycho, Shattered Glass, and Zodiac and now the upcoming biopic of porn star Linda Lovelace with a horde of A-list stars including Amanda Seyfried,James Franco and Sarah-Jessica Parker (who replaced Demi Moore at the last minute.)
Despite being an outstanding actress, I have to be honest I don’t quite understand her decision to cameo in Law & Order. I suppose it will be fun to tune in and watch the episode with the same normal characters running around the city solving crimes, and then Chloe Sevingy will happen to be there, but I don’t quite see her as a Law & Order character, the screaming wife being kidnapped.. hmm…
Do you think this is good casting on SVU’s part?
What do you think of A-list big screen actors guest appearing on a TV series?
James Toney and Ken Shamrock are supposed to fight sometime in the fall of 2011. The two had a short press conference in Van Nuys, California to announce the fight, but started to get physical a little early.
